Tenormin contains the active ingredient atenolol that belongs to cardioselectice beta1-adreno blocker. Tenormin exerts antihypertensive, antianginal and antiarrhythmic action. Tenormin possesses a negative chrono-, dromo-, batmo-, and inotropic action: decreases heart rate, inhibits the excitability and conductibility, lowers myocardium contractility.
