How does Finalgon work and what pharmaceutical group does it belong to?

Finalgon is a combined medication for local application with locally irritative action. Nonivamide is synthetic analogue of capsaicin that possesses analgesic properties. Analgesic effect is associated with affection of nociceptor C-fibers and A-delta-nervous fibers. Nicoboxil exerts direct vasodilating action. Nicoboxil exerts direct vasodilating action. Finalgon exerts hyperemia of the skin, accelerates fermentative reactions, activates metabolism.

Which conditions are treated with Finalgon?

• Arthritis
• Arthralgia and myalgia of rheumatic genesis
• Sports injuries, bruises and damage of the ligament apparatus
• Myalgia caused by excessive physical activity
• Lumbago
• Neuritis
• Ischialgia
  Bursitis and abscess
• Disorders of peripheral circulation (complex treatment)

What should a patient know before using Finalgon?

The Finalgon should not be used in cases of:

• Dermatosis
• Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients

Finalgon must not be applied on open wounds and burns, skin area with decreased permeability, neck, stomach, interior surface of thigh bone

Avoid contact of Finalgon with eyes and mucous lining of the nasal and oral cavity. Do not take heat bath after application of Finalgon gel.

Which adverse effects may manifest when using the medication?

The side effects of Finalgon include:

• Allergic reactions:skin rash, skin irritation, itching, urticaria, edema

Which groups of drugs or specific preparations may interact with Finalgon?

The drug is affected by the following:

• Local antiseptics
• Local corticosteroids
• Local antibiotics
• Local NSAID's
• Other local preparations

Tell your doctor about all the herbal preparations as well as prescription drugs that you are currently taking even if they are not on the list.

Important information for the patient: Finalgon is supplied for individual use. Do not use it to treat other conditions not listed in the leaflet. Keep the product out of children reach. Do not reuse any disposable materials if supplied with the preparation.
