Active Ingredients:

• Standardized dialysate from young calf's blood (dry substance)

How does Solcoseryl work and what pharmaceutical group does it belong to?

Solcoseryl represents deproteinized hemodialysate containing a broad spectrum of low molecular components of cellular mass and blood serum obtained from veal calfs. Solcoseryl possesses the following properties:

• improves the transport of oxygen and glucose to the cells being in hypoxic conditions
• increases the synthesis of intracellular ATP and contributes to increase the proportion of aerobic glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation
• activates the reparative and regenerative processes in tissues
• stimulates fibroblast proliferation and collagen vascular wall.

Which conditions are treated with Solcoseryl?

For Solcoseryl solution for infusion:

• Occlusive peripheral arterial disease ( Fontaine stage II)

For solution for injection

• Occlusive peripheral arterial disease (III-IV of Fontaine's stage III-IV) in patients with contraindications / intolerance to other drugs;
• Chronic venous insufficiency accompanied by trophic disorders.

For gel and ointment:

• Minor injuries (abrasions, scratches, cuts);
• Burns 1 and 2 degrees (sunburn, thermal burns);
• Frostbite;
• Hard-healed wounds (trophic ulcers and bedsores).

For dental paste:Inflammatory processes of the mouth cavity, gums, lips.

• Pain in the mouth cavity
• Bed sores from the dental prosthesis
• Wound-healthing application after dental extraction
• Reccurent oral ulceration
• Gingivitis, periodontitis, herpes simplex, angular stomatitis

What should a patient know before using Solcoseryl?

The Solcoseryl should not be used in cases of:

• Known hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
• Children and adolescents under 18 years of age (for solution for injections and solution for infusion)

Make sure to consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Solcoseryl injectable solutions should be used with caution in patients with heart failure, pulmonary edema, oliguria, anuria, hyperhydration

For the treatment of trophic skin damages it is recommended to combine parenteral and local forms of Solcoseryl

Solcoseryl gel or ointment should be applied after the surface of wound is cleaned with antiseptics. In the treatment of contaminated wounds you must apply local antibiotics and antiseptics on the wound prior applying Solcoseryl gel or oinment.

Which adverse effects may manifest when using the medication?

The side effects of Solcoseryl include:

• Allergic reactions: hives, itching, anaphylactic reactions, dermatitis
• Local reactions: itching

It is not necessary that the side effects will manifest in an individual but the possibility still exist. For more information please consult your health care provider.

Which groups of drugs or specific preparations may interact with Solcoseryl?

The drug is affected by the following:

• Nootropic agents like Cerebrolysin, Actovegin (for parenteral forms of Solcoseryl)

Do not mix Solcoseryl solution for injections with other solutions in one vial. The medication is not compatible with Ginkgo biloba, naftidrofuryl and bencylane.

Tell your doctor about all the herbal preparations as well as prescription drugs that you are currently taking even if they are not on the list.

Important information for the patient: Solcoseryl is supplied for individual use. Do not use it to treat other conditions not listed in the leaflet. Keep the product out of children reach. Do not reuse any disposable materials if supplied with the preparation.
