How does Sea-buckthorn oil work and what pharmaceutical group does it belong to?

Sea-buckthorn oil is herbal-based medication that stimulate reparative processes in the skin and mucous linings, accelerates the healing of damaged tissue. Sea-buckthorn oil possesses general tonic, anti-oxidant and cytoprotective action. It decreases the intensity of free-radical processes and protects cellular and sub-cellular membranes from damages of different origin.

Which conditions are treated with Sea-buckthorn oil suppositories?

• Hemorrhoids
• Anal fissures
• Rectal ulcers
• Erosive-ulcerous sphincteritis
• Cataral and atrophic proctitis
• Irradiation injury of large intestine

What should a patient know before using Sea-buckthorn oil?

The Sea-buckthorn oil should not be used in cases of:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the medication ingredients
• Diarrhea
• Infectious diseases of the large and small injections

Sea-buckthorn oil should be used with caution in patients with cholangitis, pancreatitis, hepatitis, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis.

The side effects of Sea-buckthorn oil include:

• Diarrhea
• Anal irritation
• Pain in the intestine

The drug is affected by other preparations used per rectum (antibiotics, antiseptics, NSAID's)
